Shawna Bennett, 49, of Big Sky, Montana has been writing stories for as long as she can remember, but it wasn’t until late 2019 when the Natalie Taylor song, “Come to This,” came on the radio that she found the inspiration for what turned into her debut YA novel.
Soul Song: A Fairy Tale, released in May 2020, is the story of the Sawyer and Julius, who fall in love only to discover they may not be destined to be together. It isn’t until the young fae—fairy—Sawyer sings her soul song that she learns her destiny.
Book Two in the series, Immortal Blood: A Fairy Tale, which is the story of Sawyer’s children, is scheduled for release in early 2021. Book Three, Heaven’s Children: A Fairy Tale, has been written, but there is no release date scheduled yet.
Shawna Bennett has five children and ten grandchildren, ranging in age from one to twelve. She enjoys spending time with the kids and encouraging them to use their imaginations. She and her husband split their time between Big Sky, Montana and Surfside Beach, Texas.
